Majorca Beaches

Scattered across the coast of Majorca are numerous beaches with soft inviting sand. The beaches range from large popular beaches such as Alcudia and Magaluf, to the get away from it all, little coves. If you do prefer having more privacy, and to enjoy yourself without the hustle and bustle of other tourists, then you should head for the each coast of the island. The southwest coast of Majorca has beaches that are densely packed and not well planned.

Once you reach the northwestern coast of Majorca, you will find it a completely different atmosphere than the other beaches. The beaches of this area have hotels that have the old fashioned air of British resort hotels that were found in the 1920s. One of the more densely populated beaches of this area is Puerta Pollensa. Popular beaches on the East coast Sa Coma and Porto Cristo. The different Majorca beaches have a beautiful combination of golden sand and the rugged and rocky type of beaches.

As with most places around the world buying property on a beach front plot can be expensive, but if you can afford it can be lucrative investment in terms of rental income and rising house prices.  To build new a house is extremely difficult due to the restrictions put in place to prevent over devlopment   

The summers in Majorca have an average of ten hours of sunshine everyday. The temperatures rise to the mid 30s during the summer months, to lead to the sea temperature rising to a pleasant 26 degrees during the peak of summer.

The adventurous ones can go exploring the numerous calas (coves) found in the 180 beaches of Majorca. These coves range from being tiny creeks to even vast expanses of beaches with crystal pure sand. You need not worry much about safety here as many of the beaches in Majorca have been awarded Blue Flags by the European Union for safety. The waters surrounding the beaches beckon for swimming, snorkeling, boating, diving and fishing.
