Caimari is a village found away from crowds in the island of Majorca. You will find that Caimari to be untouched by the main tourist route and offers the best of rural Majorca to you! A trip to Caimari is indeed the best idea for a relaxing and historical holiday.
Caimari is a small village belonging to the municipality of Selva town. It is found on the North part of Majorca, while it is on the east side of the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains. This mountain range proves to be a hikers’ paradise; and for the shoppers, the town of Inca, found nearby has a wonderful town market to visit. The town of Caimari has been famous for centuries for the cultivation of olives.
One of the place to visit include the open air museum, where you are shown the traditional constructions of rural life in an educational way. In 2002 the “Parc Etnologic de Caimari’ was opened, to coincide with the fifth edition of the olive fair. This is found near the entrance of the village, and is a space of 3000 square meters. There is an exhibition of a charcoal burner’s hut, a lime kiln, an over, a stone trap, a blackberry hedge enclosure and a charcoal burning site. Also, just as a novelty, a snow house was opened here in the year 2003. There has also been a recent addition of seventy autochthonous species to the park, to create a botanical garden inside the park.

Hiking excursions are a must while in Caimari. You can take a hike to the numerous nearby resorts of Majorca including Son Toni and Palma.
