Cala Millor - Majorca

The translation for Cala Millor means best bay and is popular tourist resort on Majorca on the east coast in the Levante region. The village is located 67 kilometers from the capital Palma and 24 km from Manacor. Cala Millor is joined at the elongated, open bay, with  Cala Bona, the other way it seems to blend in with Sa Coma along the beautiful beaches and palm tree lined promenades overlooking the stunning beaches. It is quite possible to walk from Cala Bona though Cala Millor, then Sa Coma and onto S'illot along walking along the promenade which is traffic free and flat maing it ideal for wheelchair users. There is also a cycle path alongside if you are not up to walking. Each resort has plenty of cycle hire shops and quite a number of hotels also offer the facilities.
Porto Cristo, with its limestone caves are 12 km to 15 km for those more confident and up for a longer ride or you can alway take the bus or organised coach tour.

The largest concentration of hotel developments can be found on the east coast. The first hotel was built here in 1934 by Andrew Vincens followed shortly afterwards by other hotels, restaurants and shops. Many British and German citizens have settled down here or own a second home in this place due to the excellent facilities available in the area with greta choice of restuarants and bars to please all tastes.

Cala Millor has approxiamately 2 kilometers of sand dune beach with an average width of 35 meters and the promenade separating the hotels from the beach. In addition to the larger hotel buildings which are mainly 3 and 4 star hotels that dominate the Sea Front there is an older district which lies to the Avinguda Son Servera Camps around. Where you can find the less comfortable hotels that are older, as well as restaurants and pubs. The further away from the sea you go development is still ongoing with private apartment blocks and villas many used for second home and holiday rentals.

First and foremost Cala Millor is a combination of beach, sea and comfortable pool environment, without disturbing traffic with joggers, cyclists and walkers making the most of the largest car free stretch in Majorca apart from Palma. The season is very long with English, Germans and Scandinavians making up the majority of visitors enjoying the summer holidays. Even in the winter months, the tourism here is never completely out.
Thanks to its large beach Cala Millor enjoys great popularity as a family resort with a good program of activities. A good range of water activities, horse riding and nightlife with pubs offering themed nights, tribute acts, family activites and entertaiment.
